Website Coordinator
Volunteer Position — Unpaid
The Website Coordinator will help maintain, develop, and improve PONG’s website so that it remains accurate, organized, informative, and easy to navigate. This person will be responsible for keeping website content up to date, adding new pages and information as PONG grows, managing website events and announcements, reviewing incoming form submissions, and helping make sure students, families, volunteers, partners, and the broader community can easily find the information they need.
This is a highly collaborative role. The Website Coordinator will work closely with the Communications & Social Media Coordinator, Content Writer, Graphic Designer, and Events Coordinator to make sure information is shared consistently across PONG’s website and other communication platforms. This includes coordinating announcements between the website and social media, adding events and conferences to the website, incorporating graphics and branding, and working with the Content Writer to develop pages, student highlights, program information, and other website content.
The Website Coordinator will also have opportunities to work independently by managing the day-to-day operation of PONG’s website. This includes proofreading and updating pages, creating new pages as needed, maintaining website policies, managing website events, reviewing incoming form submissions, and identifying areas where the website could be improved as PONG continues to grow.
What You’ll Do

Maintain and update PONG’s website to ensure information is accurate, current, organized, and easy to find.

Create and publish new website pages as PONG develops new programs, opportunities, initiatives, and resources.

Review existing website pages and make updates when information changes.

Proofread website content for spelling, grammar, formatting, accuracy, and consistency.

Work with the Content Writer to develop and publish website content, including program descriptions, articles, student highlights, announcements, and other written materials.

Work with the Content Writer to develop and maintain student highlights and spotlights that recognize students, their accomplishments, interests, experiences, and involvement with PONG.

Work with the Communications & Social Media Coordinator to make sure important website announcements are shared on social media.

Work with the Communications & Social Media Coordinator to make sure important social media announcements, updates, and information are also reflected on the website when appropriate.

Help maintain consistency between PONG’s website, social media, and other communication platforms.

Work with the Events Coordinator to make sure conferences, events, programs, and other activities are added to the website and contain accurate and up-to-date information.

Add, update, and manage events on the PONG website, including dates, times, locations, descriptions, registration information, and other relevant details.

Work with the Graphic Designer to add logos, graphics, promotional materials, and other visual elements to the website.

Help ensure that graphics, logos, images, and other visual content are displayed appropriately and consistently across the website.

Work with the broader PONG team to determine what information should be added, updated, highlighted, or removed from the website.

Review incoming website form submissions and make sure they are directed to the appropriate PONG team members or addressed when necessary.

Help monitor website forms and identify recurring questions, issues, or opportunities that may require updates to the website.

Update and maintain PONG’s policies and other organizational information published on the website.

Add new policies, forms, resources, and other organizational documents to the website when needed.

Help organize website navigation and page structure as PONG grows and adds more programs and opportunities.

Identify outdated, missing, confusing, or difficult-to-find information and recommend ways to improve the website.

Help make the website welcoming and accessible to students, families, volunteers, partners, and the broader community.

Collaborate with the broader PONG team to make sure the website accurately represents the organization, its programs, opportunities, events, and the people involved.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, creative, and interested in helping PONG build and maintain its online presence. You do not need to meet every requirement below, but experience with website management, web design, content management systems, or digital communications is strongly preferred.
Helpful experience and skills include:

Ability to identify outdated, inconsistent, or incorrect information and make appropriate updates.

Understanding of basic website organization, navigation, and user experience.

Ability to work with written content and make formatting or layout adjustments when needed.

Familiarity with adding images, graphics, logos, documents, and other media to websites.

Basic understanding of web design, HTML, CSS, or other web technologies is a plus, but not required.

Experience managing website forms or incoming website submissions is helpful.

Ability to stay organized and keep track of website updates, events, policies, and other information.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.

Ability to coordinate information between multiple teams and make sure important updates are reflected across the website.

Familiarity with social media and digital communications is helpful.

Experience with nonprofit, education, science, or student organizations is helpful, but not required.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is organized, willing to learn, comfortable working with others, and interested in helping build and maintain PONG’s online presence from the ground up.
About the Position
This is a volunteer, unpaid position with PONG. As a growing nonprofit, we are still building our programs, systems, and resources, and our current positions are volunteer opportunities.
In return, this role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in website management, digital communications, content management, web development, online organization, and nonprofit communications while working as part of a collaborative team. You’ll have the opportunity to work on a real nonprofit website, build practical technical and organizational skills, contribute to the development of PONG’s online presence, work with a variety of creative and communications roles, and help create an online resource that serves students, families, volunteers, and the broader PONG community.
